Sometimes you want pasta but just want it within the comfort of your own home. Despite putting in place various safety measures with the current pandemic COVID-19, some of our customers want to ensure their safety by taking our wonderful food home to enjoy. We want to make sure that for these people we help give them the best product. Here are some recommendations when placing a takeout or delivery order from Spaghetti Works.

1. Choose the right noodles for your trip

It’s no surprise that some pastas will travel better than others. This is due to almost all to go containers will attempt to trap heat in, which further cooks the noodles while traveling. So when choosing the noodles for your takeout/delivery order please consider the following:

  • How long does the delivery estimate it will be?
  • How long is the travel to your home from the restaurant?

For short distances, no more than 5-10 minutes from home, any noodle will hold up well. If you are traveling further than 10 minutes, we would recommend you selecting a thicker and shorter noodle, like Penne, Bowtie, or our Whole Grain Rotini. These pastas hold up much better when traveling. We strongly don’t recommend getting angel hair if you are traveling outside 8 minutes, this pasta cooks very quickly due to its lack of thickness and will overcook in a to go container when traveling over 8 minutes.

2. Don’t get sauce on the side

If are traveling more than 10 minutes, we strongly recommend getting sauce on the noodles and mixing it prior to leaving the facility. Covering the noodles with sauce helps them from sticking together and also keeps the pasta from drying out. If you’d like extra sauce on the side, we are more than happy to accommodate that and is a good plan depending on how far you are traveling.

3. Don't forget your salad

With any meal that comes with a salad bar trip when you are dining in, you are able to take a trip to our salad bar and build a salad to go. A lot of people love the Spaghetti Works salad bar and we don’t want you to miss out if you are taking our food to go.

4. Don't let it sit if it doesn't have to

When placing to go orders a lot of people are busy and we understand that. We always recommend our customers to schedule a pickup vs. placing it as ASAP pickup. The reason is that depending on kitchen times your pasta could be coming out very quickly and then will sit in the container cooking and continue to do so until you open the container. If you have set a pickup time, we would recommend showing up a little earlier, like 5-8 minutes early, this allows you an opportunity to go through our amazing salad bar and will also ensure that you pasta isn’t sitting for longer than it needs to.

5. Try our Fast 4-pack, the perfect meal for a family dinner

If you are feeding a family, it’s much easier and simpler for you to order our Fast 4-pack. This meal comes with 8 portions of pasta and sauce, a premade lettuce salad with your choice of 2 dressings, and garlic bread. As the name suggested this is a great meal to serve families of 4. If it turns out to be too much you can store the pasta, salad and bread in the fridge for another meal. Learn how to reheat your pasta and how long it can be kept in the fridge.
